Police were overwhelmed last night when the Montréal Canadiens won the 6th game of the series opposing them to the Las Vegas Golden Knight at home. Numerous police cars were vandalized and one was overturned by the crowd of unruly fans that had gathered downtown. Windows were smashed and youths threw objects towards police lines as clashes erupted in the celebration that ensued the victory. The SPVM anti-riot unit GI was called in and intervened with tear gas bomb canisters used to disperse people. Fifteen people were arrested during the turmoil after debris was left scattered across most of the streets surrounding the Bell Centre.
