At 9h am this morning what ended up being a 6 hour standoff started near Springdale and Eldorado in Pointe-Claire, a district of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. A man had reportedly barricaded himself inside a house at that intersection. Police officers were deployed with their special intervention unit called GI. Officers from the GTI were also deployed and were seen carrying shields and heavy fire power. A portable wired speaker brought by police negociators seemed to have been carried inside the structure by cops in the moments before the conclusion of the ordeal. An ambulance occupied by tactical paramedics made its way to the scene. Crews carried the suspect outside of the house in a blanket, before placing him on a stretcher and into an ambulance. No injury were reported and the ambulance carrying the suspect was escorted away from the scene by a police cruiser.
Ce matin à 9h une longue opération policière a débutée aux intersections Springdale et Eldorado à Pointe-Claire. Un homme s'était barricadé dans une maison près de l'intersection et refusait de se rendre. Plusieurs agents du SPVM et de l'unité du GI ont été déployés ainsi que ceux du GTI armés de fusils d'assault. Des négociateurs ont utilisé un porte-voix que des membres du GTI semblent avoir introduit à l'intérieur du bâtiment. Des ambulanciers tactiques ont transporté le suspect du haut des marches dans une couverte et ensuite sur une civière. L'intervention s'est terminée sans blessé et une auto patrouille a suivit l'ambulance en quittant la scène.
